OTCBB (OTC Bulletin Board)
The OTC Bulletin Board (or OTCBB) is an electronic inter-dealer quotation system to display real-time quotes, last-sale prices and volume information for over-the-counter (OTC) equity securities that are not listed on the Nasdaq, NYSE or other stock exchanges.
The OTCBB is operated by the National Association of Securities Dealers, which started operation in 1990 to provide transparency in the OTC market. Stocks that are traded there have the suffix “.OB”. Several gold mining companies are listed on the OTCBB, and they are required to file current financial statements with the SEC, but listing requirements are importantly reduced compared with those on the stock exchanges (it means that no market capitalization, minimum share price, corporate governance or other requirements are quoted).
